Top attendee Q&A Banner

Top attendee questions from May 8

Q: Has the IRS announced that they will no longer process paper checks to pay taxes later this year?

A: Pursuant to a recent Executive Order, all payments in and out must be electronic by Sept. 30, 2025. There are some exceptions listed in the order.

Q: What do you say to a client that does not meet your client acceptance profile? Are there any examples of what that conversation looks like?

A: While it can be difficult to have these conversations, it is important to remember the ‘why?' and to be honest with the client. "As part of our commitment to providing the highest level of service, we maintain a strategic client profile to ensure we can best serve our clients. After careful consideration, we believe that our firm may not be the best fit for your specific needs at this time." If possible, maintain a relationship with other firms that you believe would be accepting of this client profile and provide the contact information of those firms. Adhering to your client acceptance policy has so many benefits. For more tools, resources and assistance with these conversations, visit the PCPS Right-Sizing Your Client Base Toolkit.
